Hmmm...difficult decision. Top slot is probably taken by the Matrix and Lord of the Rings trilogies.
Other movies include any Tarantino movie, Fight Club, Excalibur, 28 Days Later, Terminator I, Star Wars III to VI, Braveheart, 300, Sin City, Devil's Adovcate, Johnny Mnemonic, Black Hawk Down, Crossroads (I hate Ralph Macchio though), Almost Famous, American Beauty, Detroit Rock City and many more I haven't mentioned.

Too many to mention. Mostly scifi, war and alternate reality

I must say it has to be The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien. Some may not agree but to me it was the book that introduced me to reading. Other authors I like are Guy Gavriel Kay (Lions of Al Rassan, Sailing to Sarantium), Bernard Cornwell's Arthur books are favorites too and George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire books. Currently reading Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke (courtesy of my friend Adam Brimmer)and World War Z by Max Brooks.
